Commercial Septic Services: Grease Traps and Lift Stations
Celebrating 30 Years of Service; Est. 1996
Commercial septic pumping, scheduled around your business
We work for restaurants and other food businesses, property and facilities managers, churches, schools, offices and shops, on septic or with a grease interceptor out back. A business tank is not a house tank. It fills on the business’s schedule, and when it backs up the doors close.
That is why commercial work is set up differently. We pump on a schedule you agree with us, so it is not a call you make after the smell starts. For a food business, you get the pumping record your utility’s grease program expects. We can plan the pump-out for when the kitchen is closed, so you stay open. And there is one phone number, (919) 481-6929, that reaches the people who do the work.
Septic work for houses is on our residential septic services page.
Grease trap pumping and cleaning
We pump and clean both kinds of grease trap: the interior trap under or beside the sinks, and the outdoor grease interceptor buried near the building. Grease trap pumping takes out the grease on top, the water and the solids below it. Grease trap cleaning gets the trap working again.
A full interceptor stops catching grease and passes it down the line, where it hardens in the pipe. The signs are slow floor drains in the kitchen, a smell, or a backup after a busy night.
In Raleigh, Durham and Cary, the utility’s fats, oils and grease (FOG) program expects a food business to keep its grease interceptor pumped and to keep the pumping records. We pump on a schedule you set with us, and you keep the record of each visit.
Lift station pumping and repair
A lift station is a pump in a buried well. It moves wastewater uphill, or to a sewer or tank that gravity will not reach. When it stops, the well fills and the water has nowhere to go.
- Pumping the station out
- Float switches that stick or fail
- Alarms and control panels
- Pump replacement
An alarm on a lift station is a call-now situation. Call (919) 481-6929 any time, day or night, because emergency septic service is available 24/7. Pump and panel work is also on our septic repairs page.
Grease trap installation and commercial installations
A new grease trap is sized to the kitchen it serves and set where a pump truck can reach the lids. The utility or the county has to approve it before it goes in service, and once it is in, it goes on your pumping schedule.
Commercial installations are septic systems for offices, churches, shops and other businesses outside town sewer. The county decides what the lot can take, and the path runs through the county: soil evaluation, improvement permit, construction authorization, inspection and operation permit.
We are an NC Level IV installer, certificate 3402, the highest grade. The permit steps and what moves the cost are on our septic tank installation page.
Maintenance on a standing schedule
A standing schedule beats an emergency call. We set the dates with you, and every visit goes on record.
- Grease traps and interceptors pumped and cleaned on the dates we set with you
- Septic tanks pumped, with the baffles, outlet tee and filter checked
- Lift stations pumped down and checked, floats and alarms included
- A record of every visit for your files
Every tank visit follows the routine on our septic tank pumping page, with the sludge level noted so the next date is set from what we see.
Ask about the multi-tank discount
If two or more tanks are pumped at the same time, ask about our multi-tank discount. Only one discount applies at a time, so tell us about every tank when you call.
Commercial septic questions
What owners and managers ask before they book.
How often does a grease interceptor need pumping?
It depends on the kitchen and on your utility’s grease program, so we set the schedule with you. A busy fryer line and a sandwich shop do not fill an interceptor at the same rate. We look at yours when we pump it and book the next visit from what we see.
Do you provide pumping manifests?
Yes. You get a record of every pump-out to keep on file for the utility’s grease program.
Can you pump before we open?
Tell us when you are closed and we plan around it. After-hours work is priced on the call. Call (919) 481-6929 to set it up.
Do you serve Raleigh and Durham restaurants?
Yes, and Cary, Chapel Hill and Apex. See our pages on septic service in Raleigh, septic service in Durham, septic service in Cary and septic service in Chapel Hill.
What if the lift station alarm is on?
Call right away. The alarm means the well is filling faster than the pumps move it. Keep water use to a minimum until we get there, and call (919) 481-6929 any time, because emergency service is available 24/7. More on emergency septic service.
Do you do commercial septic installation?
Yes. We install septic systems for businesses outside town sewer, and grease traps for kitchens. We are an NC Level IV installer, certificate 3402. The permit path is on our septic installations page.
